So I'm still confused. I don't think I'm the only one.

Flights flown on American to be posted to an AAdvantage account? Or flights on American to be posted to a TAM account?

And the appropriate FF number was or was not tied to the ticket by your travel agent?

If it is American flight to AAdvantage account and you still have the tickets and boarding passes I'd try the online form again. If that does not work I'd try the call-in phone tree (where you just key in all the appropriate numbers). It can be more flexible than the online form. If neither work I'd call AAdvantage customer service.

If you are trying to do TAM to AA or AA to TAM I wish you every success. Too many years ago to be a valid data point now, but TAM to AA is the only one I never got to go through after multiple tries, but the problem seemed to be at the TAM end.
