Are you entitled to a partial refund or a full refund? Mechanical delay at a connecting point -- isn't that classic trip in vain, for a full refund?

Shouldn't any refund come from AA, your ticketing carrier?

Maybe your refund will be both larger and easier than you expect. I've usually found AA rather good at refunds subsequent to flight cancellation.
