All - flying JFKSXM, flight showing J4. DM in a PNR with 3 status-less family members (two of which are kids). Currently seated together in EC on X fares.

I'm considering breaking the PNR in hopes of securing an upgrade (which I'd give to my wife). Downside is then the family is orphaned without status, so any IRROP would probably cause EC seats to disappear. Also, X fare puts me pretty low in pecking order.

Too risky?
