Hi all

I've got a first return flight to Los Angeles in September for myself, my wife and baby. I then need to get to San Francisco either the same day or following morning- I think the same day is pushing it a bit to be honest.

I want to book an American flight for the three of us which there is availability, but I will have quite a bit of luggage. If I book it using avios, will I have the extra allowance from the first flight? Would I have to link the bookings? I am also a Marco Polo gold card holder but wasn't sure if I could use that for my luggage. And is there any other benefits being the gold which I could use?
