It was odd to hear the pilot say that we were returning to our original gate to because they apparently forgot to fill the plane up with water. We had pulled away from the gate and came back about 5-10 minutes later. I have never had that happen before on a flight but I suppose it quite possible that it was a legitimate error.

My other question is what is considered an on-time departure? Is it considered to be a departure when the plan backs away from the gate? I'll have to do some research on this in my 'spare time'.
