Plenty of US-born people enter the UK with their US passports even after obtaining British citizenship. This is accepted.

Being born in the UK does not mean you are a British citizen automatically, unless you were born before 1983 - but you could still have renounced, or your father could have been a diplomat.

However, it would be reasonable for UK immigration officers to ask.
