Maybe I'm just lucky, or else simply take the right flights, but I've very rarely experienced an LHR hold exceeding 10 minutes. AMS-LHR an afternoon a few weeks ago was straight in (and then admittedly to a domestic gate, so we had to be bused), a few days ago JNB-LHR just one lazy loop, arrving at the gate 8 minutes late.

Landing on the Polderbaan, however, only results in an on-time gate arrival if the schedule is really well padded, or the aircraft lands early.

Adding a Polderbaan departure to the almost-on-time pushbacks that KL is good at, often causes me to miss my onward connection, which means I get home one to four hours later than I would have had the flight arrived on time.
