I'm going to the Marriott Vail where tripadvisor reports say elites are offered upgrades but then told the upgrade is an extra $50 or $100 per night. It seems like if the upgrade is avail that per the terms of Plat/Gold it should be complimentary. I guess in the end they do whatever. The heck they want, but what am I missing?
