Look, you are not entitled to the extra allowance. It's a courtesy if the check-in staffs grant you extra allowance but you shouldn't be expecting that at all. And definitely shouldn't be pissed at them for not giving you the extra allowance. Personally, I would rather them stick to the rules all the time but that's just me.
