A wide and very brightly coloured luggage strap. It means that I can spot my bag on the belt from 50 yards away. Much more effective than a credit card size piece of plastic or a tiny bit of ribbon on a handle, both of which are only useful when you're standing by the side of the belt and looking specifically at each individual item that's coming past you.
I used to have luggage straps (the elasticated ones with clips) but, over the years, they got lost in various airports baggage systems. They are good for identifying your bags however. So long as they don't get too popular
