Normally, I do always do OLCI on a computer and print my boarding pass, in fact as early as possible if I think there might be a problem with the flight. However, in this case I didn't have easy or free access to a printer. My hotel's lounge was closed and they didn't have the little kiosks to print boarding passes for free. The only choice would have been to find the fancy contract business center somewhere in another building of a huge convention property, stand in line, and pay a hefty fee to use a computer for one minute and print one page. In retrospect, it was a mistake but I decided to just use my phone instead. This was Sunday so nearby FedEx/Kinko's weren't open.
SC's have printers. I use them to print my HOOU coupons.
