Ironically I have several SWUs still sitting in my profile (about to expire....) since I usually travel on cheaper fares. This just happened to be a last minute set of travel plans, hence the Y fare.

Should I call the PM line and apply the SWU? It's not like I have another time I'd actually use it....This is a long enough flight (3+ hrs) that I'd like to get the OpUp if possible.
When do your SWUs expire? If you can use them on another trip, I'd be reluctant to use one with a full Y fare as you'll be high on the upgrade list anyway. You can always watch the upgrade list at OLCI and ask to use the SWU until IIRC (check this!) about an hour before departure. In the meantime, before the gate, SWUs book into a different inventory class, RP rather than RU.
