Ironically I have several SWUs still sitting in my profile (about to expire....) since I usually travel on cheaper fares. This just happened to be a last minute set of travel plans, hence the Y fare.
Should I call the PM line and apply the SWU? It's not like I have another time I'd actually use it....This is a long enough flight (3+ hrs) that I'd like to get the OpUp if possible.
Nothing unusual. just means DL has not released upgrade inventory on this route yet. It can happen anytime between now and boarding. If not before gate, you will likely be near the top of the list because of the Y fare. Only DM on Y and DM and Plat with an upgrade instrument will be ahead of you. You can wait till OLCI and check your position on the list before applying a SWU if necessary. If the SWU is going to be wasted anyway, you can call and apply it now.
