I was just on a flight with the new cabin. I didn't sit in a center seat, but the center pairs do angle slightly toward each other, and I think if you leaned forward you could easily talk to each other. The outer single seats face out, toward the windows, so sitting across the aisle from each other as a couple would be pretty awkward since you're angling away from each other.
I have a couple pics, but they don't show what the space between the two center seats looks like (and I have no idea how to upload photos here).
