I am new to flyertalk and am based in the UK.

I was reading about Mile Runs and notice some runs by forum members. I am not sure that I am interpreting the "code" correctly but does the following:

DUB-LHR//LCY-JFK-LAS-MIA-SJU-MIA-LAX-LAS-JFK-LCY//LHR-DUB| J/I/A/A/I/I/A/A/A/I/J | £2,000.85 return | called to pay after help from dutch_122| 1480 TPs | £1.35/TP (Could have had at least 60 more TPs for similar price if LAS-LAX-MIA) | paulieuk found 9 March 2014


... mean that if you book the above trip you would gain 1480 BA Tier Points after this trip alone? For just £2,000? Flying in Club and First Class?

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

And where do you book such runs?

All very confusing to the naive like me!

Any guidance would be welcome.
