USD$450 is REALLY high for China.
I do have a rate for the Portman that normally gives a Club option, but again, for some weird reason, all the hotels are restricting things as if they are almost sold out, but they have plenty of rooms. So I had to request what the upgrade charge would be.
Yes, that was me, and it wasn't like they were just trying to dump dead days such as Chinese New Year... it was wide open until the end of the schedule. While I won't go so far as to suggest that was a mistake rate, the Puli has among the highest ADRs among Shanghai hotels so it was clearly an outlier.
