Just to clarify - when you say you were upgraded in advance to J on your return, did DL offer that as a gesture, or do you mean they cleared your SWU in advance and still used it? Just curious.
They still pulled the cert but confirmed the advance upgrade without me asking. I'm still fine with that and probably won't get a chance to use my two remaining since I'm in the process of switching over to AA.
I'm on the flight now, and it certainly feels like another non-rev party. Watched as the seat map filled up with 10+ pax as they cleared and the guy across the aisle just got off the phone with his buddy telling him "how awesome" it is that delta no longer upgrades regular passengers...
