Very useful TR - very informative.

I couldn't believe how crappy the non-Schengen terminal area at VIE is when I passed through a few weeks ago. In my wilder moments I suspect it's a delibirate attempt to pressure the UK into joining Schengen - the other victim nations are supposed to exert diplomatic pressure on us in addition to our own sufferrings
