not worth paying $1000 + to have flat over a flat angle bed IMHO. You are better off spending additional 20k miles one way and going emirates first. instead of BA Business. Much rather spend 20k miles and fly first rather than spend additional $1k and fly business.

OP: you should try cathay. cathay to africa via HK using alaska in 62k in business one way and 70k in FIRST oneway (same as you are paying for business). This option wound be the best if you can get it .
