How much does Delta lose anyway on those Plat+ at time of booking upgrades? Most of the time its rooms no one else books because they are too expensive and it free's up less expensive volume room categories that most companies and consumers book anyway. I still think they should have killed the extra 1000 aeroplan miles and kept Plat+ at time of booking upgrades if they were that cheap.
