Or maybe just better say I want to close the card (without mentioning refund of AF)?
When did you close your 1st card and have you get the AF waived yet?

There is a lot of information on specifically canceling the AA Exec card in the Executive thread, so head over there.
Generally people have not had to mention the AF and have still received credit, but you can look for examples in that thread.
