I ran into one of these this week, going from COS to PDX. The coach fare was around $450. I searched for 1st class and it showed me a "P" fare for $730-ish. Only after you selected the flights and clicked on the "Fare Rules" on the last page before booking did you see that it was a T fare in both directions. I care less about sitting up front on a 2 hour flight than the extra PQMs, so I didn't think it was worth booking and taking the chance that it wouldn't come with the bonus. (A flight at a different time was going for $690 in coach, but there was no P fare available for that time.)

I would be upset if I searched for 1st class, bought a P fare, and then was only given economy-level PQMs. I don't understand why UA expects that its fliers are all sophisticated enough to dig into details of the contract to make sure we get what we think we're getting after following the steps on the website.

And on the flip side, they lost the extra revenue from me because I feel I can't be sure what I'm getting exactly.
