Good question! At 73 my working days are thankfully done! When we first went to Japan in 2008 after an absence of 40+ years we had friends living nearby in Kohuku as well as a little further afield in Senzoku

and Shin-Yokohama was really covenient.
In both 2008 and 2010 we started our visit in Shin-Yokohama and ended in Minato Mirai - with travel farther afield in between. It is also very convenient for our planned 14 days travel, which this year will take us down to Hiroshima (3), then Nagasaki (3), back to Osaka (5), and finally Tokyo (3). From there it will be down to Minato Mirai for the final week.
Quite frankly, at Prince Hotels the price was right. In some properties we could double dip by combining advance booking discounts PLUS extra discounts for stays of three or more consecutive nights. On top of this there was the free buffet breakfast for PCI members.

Now the PCI website says the breakfasts are free - but the Shin-Yokohama Prince and the Tokyo Prince deny it
As for Minato Mirai, we have stayed at both the Pan Pacific and the Intercontinental - a little luxury treat to end our visit. They are pricey, especially the IC high floor ocean view rooms. Breakfasts at either is really expensive, but there's always the "yellow arches" just down the mall near the subway escalator
So, we're still in a pickle as to replacements for the two Prince Hotels if we can't get around the breakfast scam. Trouble is, we like the locations
