You have to have two separate checking accounts, and each has to meet the requirements for monthly points (Direct deposit and bill payment), but yes, you can both earn points.
I earn 1500/mo on each account. Over the course of the year, that's 36K points, which is $478.80 in airfare with my 1.33x Prestige bonus. Not bad for zero cost.
