While I am not implying at all that suicide was involved and leave the investigation to the officials with knowledge of all facts, suicide is not a crackpot theory. It happened a couple of months ago to LAM Mozambique Airlines 470, an almost new Embraer 190. The plane fell out of the sky (was tracked on radar though as it dropped from the sky, contrary to the Malaysian flight) and nobody expected suicide as a cause until the preliminary investigation was reported.

All theories are possible, and in the end, officials will find out what happened to the flight and why it crashed. But the fact that a 777 (my favorite plane) operated by a reputable airline can disappear just like that during cruise, is such a scary and uneasy thought.

My thoughts are with those who have families and friends onboard.
