Actually, it does come up quite often over on the Tom Bihn Forums. I have seen it with a co-workers TBA but it didn't really register as that loud to me. There are probably three things you can do.
1) Return the bag
2) Cut off the metal pulls and replace them with cord pulls. As TravnD mentioned, doing so eliminates the ability to return the bag for full credit and to ever have metal pulls reattached. Otherwise, I have read, the warranty is valid for non-zipper pull issues. I only know this because I have been researching buying an Aeronaut and tried to understand the options. Supposedly there would have been a baggie of pulls in the bag? If not, you can use a paracord-lite cord to make them. There are Youtube videos about cutting the tabs and for installing corded ones. From the Ebay sell price, doing this doesn't seem to impact the aftermarket recovery value much.
3) Install small rubber 'boots'. A co-worker did this on a TNF bag using heat shrink material of some sort. Another used a tubing from Amazon. Sorry not to be much help but a thought. Seems like a PITA to me.
All this said, I only own a few small TB bags and do not own a TBA, so consider this as just info. If I can ask, which colors and material did you order?
