I have a rental that I need from midnight Thu to Sat 7 am. This comes out to 2 days + 7 hours and I would get charged 3 days. If I extend my rental period from midnight Thu to midnight Sunday I can apply a free weekend day coupon and get charged 2 days.

The question I have is if I return at 7 am Sat am I likely to still get the free day?

I am using a corporate code (legit for me) that has same daily rate regardless of weekend or weekday. Worst scenario is I get charged 3 days instead of 2 at the corporate rate?

searched threads and there seems to be mixed experiences in the past regarding this so wanted to get an update on what is likely to happen these days. also saw some tricks on just leaving the car parked there without officially returning, leaving the keys in the car, and then then calling them at the end of the actual period to return. Not sure if that still works but sounded interesting, haha.
