As for taking luxury vacations in 3rd world countries, we understand. Donating money/volunteering during our trips makes us feel a lot better about it. Lookng for a suitable charity can be a very fun part of trip planning and can help us learn more about where we're going, the people, etc.

We have a box of medical supplies that were gathered for Dr Rom Gumabon at Amanpulo prior to our trip, which we unfortunately had to cancel. These are items that are needed for the clinic on Manamoc. FedEx gave an estimate of $600 to ship them to the hangar at Manila. If anyone has a planned trip (from the US) and would be willing to check the box of supplies as baggage, I could FedEx it directly to you. FYI, it weighs about 20lbs and measures 21x13x14.
To follow up on my earlier post ..
Well then , if Pulo was not there the locals e.g. will still be fishermen . Now many of them have had the opportunity to be on Pulo staff - have acquired new skills , etc. Pulo also has fresh fish & provided new boats to fishermen after recent typhoons . Some have moved on to train new Aman teams and work at other Amans - N'oi , Yara , etc !!

Has anyone else responded to ruggedfilly who posted on the Bopha thread??

So Amanjunkies , who have probably a broader perspective of the world , have rallied when needed in our various capacities .. Just go stay at Pulo or various Amans this year , especially the remote ones - Jiwo included

And / or heed 5khours
