There is also a one-way Tokyo Direct ticket which costs 1,500 yen for getting into Tokyo (but not for a return trip to NRT).
I just did this a couple of weeks ago -- highly recommended. The N'EX & Suica is a great deal open only to foreigners. The station is right there after Narita Arrivals. It's a comfortable train ride with in-seat beverage/snacks service (available for purchase) between the airport and Tokyo station. I much prefer this to the airport Limo bus.

If you don't know exactly which train you want on the return, you can just have that be a ticket without a seat reservation. Later you'll need to exchange that for a reservation ticket at a JR ticket office.

ETA: the beverage/snacks service takes only yen and Suica. All the more reason to get the N'EX & Suica combo.
