It usually credits overnight to your Avios.com account and then you can combine Avios between Avios.com and BAEC (assuming no household account exists).
Yes, that's the chap! I used it once when I opened an Avios account to take advantage if greater reward availability, but wasn't eligible for RFS without earning some Avios. Credited within 24 hours and I was able to make the booking, after transferring some Avios from BA.
