Welcome to FT! I can't provide all the answers, but I can tackle some questions.

Is there any reason why only a couple of flights should be ffected by weather?
1. You can check KLM.com (they have updated flight information) under flight status. Alternatively, try flightstats.
2. It is possible. Flights follow certain paths from point A to point B. The weather may be perfect at both origin and destination, but some events along the way (storms, volcanoes, air traffic restrictions, whatnot) may affect the ability of the flight to make it safely to the destination. So yes, it is possible for only
some flights to be affected by weather, and it is possible for weather to appear fine in both cities but for "weather" to still be inferred as a legitimate cause for delay.
