The physical product was conceptually interesting: 200+ square meters of open space, in-room infinity pool and wall-to-wall view of the Pitons. However, it was cold (both emotionally and physically) and impersonal in a weird way. The open-view toilet was something else altogether. We were not exactly happy with it and I can imagine the concept freaking some people totally out.

The complex is a sort of concrete and glass honeycomb stuck into a mountainside. Probably architecturally interesting but certainly not beautiful in any traditonal sense (and this is from a lover of modern architecture).

Food was OK but not superb by any means.

Service was strictly three-star level at best. The place was very new at the time so service has hopefully been improved. We feel most at home in solid, low key four-star places and are not really comfortable with traditional five star service - and we felt the service was lacklustre.

Finally, Jade Mountain shares the beach with Anse Chastanet which is down the hill and the is also used by cruise ship passengers on excursions. No real privacy whatsoever.

Many of these things may have been improved since we were at JM but I would be very hesitant to recommend JM to a seeker of ultra luxury. Or really anyone, for that matter.

Cheers,
T.
