I am still within my 30 days since the statement that list annual fee posted. I already paid all the balance except the $450, so I only have $450 balance in my 1st card now, since when I cancel they will refund that amount and that will satisfy the $450 balance, right? Did you also left $450 balance when you closed your account?

Can I say like this via secure message ): " Dear Citibank, I would love to cancel/close my AAdvantage Executive Mastercard which last 4 digits of the account number ending in XXXX. Please cancel/close effectively today as per this message and please refund the annual fee."

Or maybe just better say I want to close the card (without mentioning refund of AF)?

When did you close your 1st card and have you get the AF waived yet?
