I departed IST on BA less than a year ago, and don't remember such extreme security or so many lines. It seemed like they set up another checkpoint everywhere there was room for another desk.
Don't get me wrong, my experience flying TA was very good while actually on the plane. They must have very poor on-time performance due to this issue.
