Sorry for reviving the thread, but some things may have changed in the last 5 years. I wonder if I can book an aeroplan reward for a family member, whom I will not be flying with. I did a dummy booking, but came to stage where I had to agree on some terms, and click next. Not knowing if the trip is going to materialize, I couldn't go on. But just wanted to make sure that it's still okay to buy a ticket for someone else with miles? I can supply the credit card for the charges.
