Agree with that comment 100% When a survey goes out, and we all don't get it, it's a fairly bogus survey in my honest opinion. What is valid about asking only an unknown targeted percentage of MP members about the MP program and travel on United Airlines, and why couldn't it go to all?
1) United could be sampling - one can get valid (i.e. statistically valid) results with a sample.
2) Sending out to everyone doesn't solve the problem you're worried about because of response bias. The people who respond tend to be those with stronger views, negative or positive (more negative).
