Help! Confused about USAirways red eye flight!

I don't see what's so confusing. If your flight is at 0040 (12.40am) on 3/8 you need to be at the airport on Friday night. Your flight leaves very early Saturday morning. If you want to be at the airport on Saturday night, you need to book for Sunday morning.
