Unless things have changed recently, they don't care. Actually the smart managers love us.

One of the metrics of their performance as store manager is volume. Gross, not net, volume. This is fairly well known and repeatedly confirmed on coupon boards.

I have used prepaid cards when my kids have overnight school trips, when they were too young to have their own ATM cards. I have also used them as a less expensive and no ID needed option to 'wire' money when my son had his wallet stollen while out of town. I had to get a store to take my CC over the phone for a prepaid card, which is surprisingly easy to do, btw. At any rate, there are a few legit reasons to buy a prepaid and in an affluent area people are going to just do the max load by default.

Since a huge % of married people have affairs, according to the internets, you could just tell anyone that asks that you use them to pay for your mistress' bills to keep it off your regular CC bill that your wife might see.
