I agree about the sales manager. However, I have called in to the Platinum Concierge line on a number of occasions to ask them if they can contact the property about minimum stay requirements on my behalf and they've never had a problem doing so in the past. In all but one case, they were able to secure me a room. In one case, it was during a conference week and I decided to switch my 4-night stay at that property to a 1-night stay and distribute the rest of the nights to other SPG properties. This was the only hotel with a minimum stay requirement. Not only did they accommodate my request, but I was upgraded to one hell of a suite once I got there (which likely would not have happened had I kept it at 4 nights during a major conference).

With that said, the hotel is in Jersey and there may be local laws that actually make it illegal for some type of negotiation like this to take place. Jersey is a weird place. (P.S. - Just kidding, of course).
