If you have Amex Platinum (per your profile), the Fine Hotels and Resorts program is often an excellent value for Las Vegas.

For this reason, I usually prefer Encore Panorama/Tower (price depending). Wynn is fine too. $80 breakfast credit per day, includes room service, $100 spa credit, early check in, late check out. Very competitive pricing usually.

Then I would consider Bellagio for you. (also part of FHR). You can often get fountain view rooms at reasonable prices.

IMHO I'd avoid Aria. The rooms are quite dark and it tries very hard to be hip.

I prefer to rent a car to have flexibility. Rates are usually cheap in Vegas. You can certainly walk up/down the strip if you like.
