Not sure whether these EK IATA DG (dangerous goods) regulations have changed since 2011 but it would appear legal.

I've taken a bottle of special alcohol in past with no problems with EK. Sri Lanka has restrictions though of 2 bottles of wine (.75 ltr) per person for foreign passport holders and 2 liters of wine for Sri Lankan passport holders. And they have been getting more strict on this.
