Last week I was assigned a SUV with 1850 miles -- they actually didn't read my license/credit card and gave me someone else's contract and car. I noticed about 30 mins out from the airport (the contract was in an envelope)
The original rental was one-way to a different airport.
Returned to the airport to get a proper contract and decided to keep the vehicle and not move luggage around.
The next day, with the sun up, I saw that the SUV had been rather significantly rear-ended in its short life. This facility was hoping to ship it off with a one-way rental.
I hope I'm not going to see a bill 6 months from now!
