I believe you will not earn points during an award stay for incidental charges. You will however earn points for instance if there is a special promotion. I for instance received 1,000 points for staying at a Hampton on points as part of the weekend promotion this quarter. Also, you will earn 250 points if you set your preference at Hamptons to that (instead of snacks).
