I'm still waiting for Del Ray's Bombay Curry House to reopen (the renovation work is taking forever), but I recently enjoyed a meal at the Sri Lankan restaurant Shakthi in the Arlandria area of Alexandria, across the street from RT's and a minute's walk from the Birchmere. It's in the building that used to house the Po Siam Restaurant and they serve Sri Lankan, Indian and a handful of Thai dishes. The Saturday night service was a little slow, but the food was well worth the wait.
