Hi I have an issue with my miles that I would like to get some info on before calling and holding an overworked representative for an hour during the northeast weather advisory.

On Friday, I tried to rebook an award which required redeposit of miles. I have done this a couple of times in the past, and in these times they were able to cancel the old ticket and immediately use the miles to book the new ticket. This time it didn't go so smoothly. The representative said that she could put the new award on hold, and wait 24-48 hours for the miles from the old flight to redeposit. Not only that, but she put me on hold for half an hour while talking to another agent, and said that because the award was already reinstated in the past, it was causing some issues. Definitely sounds like something odd was going on.

Fast forward to today (Sunday), 48 hours have passed, and still no miles in my account. The new award is on hold until Thursday, but I want to resolve it ASAP because I don't want to lose these award seats.

So from your experience, how long do miles usually take to redeposit when you cancel a reservation? Should I be worried? Do odd things happen when you reinstate an award more than once?
