Just a note about the internet connection at Kobe Bay Sheraton. A lot of Japanese hotels have internet connections that seem to slow down to a crawl during heavy usage periods. Kobe Bay Sheraton also has erratic internet connection speeds, but it seemed like a different type of slowdown. At this hotel, the internet speed goes fast for a few minutes, then completely stops for a few minutes at all times of the day. This drove me bat insane for a while, but I noticed when I used my vpn service I didn't experience any slow downs or stoppages. I think it's a firewall or dns issue with the hotel's internet setup, but using a vpn connection allows you to bypass this issue completely. After turning on vpn, internet usage was perfectly acceptable on laptop, iPad or iPhone.

Also, agree with the posts made previously about this hotel. If you go when it's not peak season the hotel provides a pretty good value, though room has dated furnishings. I also didn't receive a suite upgrade as a plat, but did get upgraded to a deluxe room.

Club lounge offers bare minimum food, but one good thing about the lounge is they keep it stock all day with Kirin and Asahi beer. *burp*
