Think about it. What's he going to do, drink water from the tap in the incredibly small space designated as WC on board?
I usually take about 3 litred on board so I dont have to do the silly "one more please (pleasant smile)" before the grumpy FA asks "can you give me your empty to refill" from the large bottle.
No need on SQ though as they just give you a couple of 1.5 litre bottles without any hassle!
