Is it any different in principle to, say, meal deals regularly offered in fast food outlets or supermarkets, or the fact that a one-way BA flight usually costs more than a return?
I think the WHS assistant should just have charged OP the higher price. Then there'd be nothing to moan about (although there isn't much to moan about anyway....).
