Travelers still have to remove computers and liquids but do not have to remove shoes or jackets.
And the TSA screening entry to the AS gate at EWR has a special card that flyers get when they're cleared for PreCheck and the PreCheck lane is closed (which happened to me recently, mid-afternoon):
