I am booked on EK48 and EK406 (FRA-DXB and DXB-MEL-AKL, respecively) on a Saver Y ticket for April. As I have approx 48,000 miles expiring this year, I would like to use them to upgrade as much of this itinerary as possible.

However, being a Saver ticket, I cannot request the miles upgrade until 24hrs prior to departure.

Will I be able to upgrade the FRA-DXB and MEL-AKL sectors to J while leaving DXB-MEL sector as Y, even though DXB-MEL-AKL is all on the same flight number?
